Job Description

FUTU-RE Co., Ltd., based in Nagoya, Aichi — Japan's automotive heartland — was established in 2014. The company's core business is software development and autonomous vehicle engineering. Our work tackles multiple industry demands such as vehicle development, control systems development, AI, sensor fusion and research.

FUTU-RE Co., Ltd. is part of a group of companies based in Japan and the Netherlands. We aim to bring together the best overseas and domestic talent via a long-standing relationship with Tokyo University, the Netherlands' Brainport region and others.

We work together with automotive OEMs, tier one and two automotive suppliers, public and private bodies, and many others on the ground-up development of self-driving vehicles, as well as pursuing our own research and development in this exciting field.

Advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) development is at the forefront of the transition to autonomous vehicles; having the correct data to reference is imperative to the functionality of future transport. Owing to rapid growth, FUTU-RE Co., Ltd. is seeking an experienced ADAS Development Project Manager to lead our data collection program across East Asia, working alongside a leading automotive end client.

Testing requirements are provided by the end client, and the role itself encompasses everything from reconciliation of project requirements through to completion. It is inclusive of, but not limited to:

  • Route scheduling and geographical research
  • Vehicle systems checks and modification
  • On-the-ground training for local operators
  • Customs processing
  • Local legislature research
  • Logistics coordination
  • Partner company sourcing and cost negotiation

We are looking for a talented, detail-oriented Project Supervisor to join our innovative team. If you are enthusiastic about advancing the future of mobility — and enjoy the operational challenge of coordinating a multi-country program — you may be a perfect fit for our team.

The project entails frequent travel in East Asia, as well as the possibility of extended stays at development or test locations. As such, this position would suit someone who enjoys seeing new places and thrives on cross-border coordination. We operate a flexible working schedule, and remote work is supported once the right project knowledge and training has been obtained. We are a multi-cultural group, proud to boast team members from all over the world.

Applicants with experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder automotive or technology projects, and a strong passion for furthering the development of autonomous driving, will be looked upon favourably. Experience with vehicle fleet operations or data-collection programs is also beneficial. Candidates will be expected to have a minimum of 3 years' experience leading operational or engineering teams on major projects, and have Japanese language ability.
