Job Requirements

1. Fluent English skills are required. Native speakers are preferred. Applicants who speak basic Japanese will be given preference, as understanding and speaking Japanese is vital to this role. You will be asked to speak Japanese in the interview.

2. This is a part-time position. However if we are a good fit for each other, full-time is available in the future. We do offer VISA sponsorship.

Job Description

Green Tree English (GTE) was founded in 2017 in Nishi-Tokyo and offers students a different way of learning English. We are a mix of an international school and an eikaiwa. We teach children from ages 0-12 and classes are small. GTE is known for its unique atmosphere, creative crafts, exciting experiments, fun lessons, teachers that care and effective teaching. Some classes are solo teaching and others are paired teaching.

We are looking to add energetic, responsible and proactive individuals to our team. We are looking for someone that has the heart of a teacher; someone who is motivated by seeing children grow and learn from you, not just in English, but in all areas of development; someone who believes in the potential of children and will do their best to help their growth.

Sundays and Mondays are off. It is located in Nishi-Tokyo (West Tokyo), a few minutes walk from Tanashi Station.

-Responsibilities-

As a teacher, your duties include: creating lesson plans, performing lessons (singing songs, dancing, teaching vocabulary, playing games, helping students make crafts, etc.), preparing crafts and experiments, taking pictures of classes and interacting with parents and students alike. Beyond that, there is also cleaning the school and advertising. We also hold in-class events such as Christmas, Halloween, etc. where you may be required to wear costumes, make decorations, etc. We do all our work on Canva, experience with Canva will be a benefit.
