Job Description
Merry England is a little different from your average school and we aim to keep it that way. We are a vibrant and progressive school with a great working environment, great students and great staff. We aim to make learning English accessible and a lot of fun. The school was founded nearly 30 years ago and currently has two locations, around 600 students and six native teachers. As we are expanding we are looking for a teacher to join our team as a full-time instructor.
The successful applicant would be involved in teaching English conversation to
Students aged 3 up (including adults) in classes ranging in size from one to groups of 10. The teachers would be working a basic forty-hour week with approximately 30 teaching hours.
Regular hours are 2 pm to 10 pm Tuesday through Friday and 10 am to 7 pm Saturday.
Some morning shift work will be necessary.
You must be a native speaker with a relevant bachelors degree (or higher).
Experience and Japanese language abilities are a definite plus.
The contract is for one year (renewable) and visa sponsorship is available.
As all of our curricula is developed in house, our teachers are very involved in its ongoing development and in the overall improvement of the services we supply to our students. This position would suit you if you would like to contribute to and be part of something great; not just turn up and teach.
Our lessons are taught using a lot of Phonics, physical learning, singing and role play. We don't use Textbooks so being flexible and resourceful are a must. As are being lively, fun, good with people and professional.
