Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Recognised teaching qualification
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant teaching experience
- Experience with IB, Cambridge, EYFS, UK-based Early Years / Primary programmes, or similar
- Strong understanding of play-based, child-centred, and inquiry-led learning
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- High level of English proficiency suitable for teaching through English
- Professional, positive, and team-oriented approach
Desirable Experience:
- Experience with programmes and approaches such as IB PYP, Cambridge Early Years, Cambridge Primary, EYFS, Jolly Phonics, CLIL, or EAL/ESL
- Experience in curriculum planning, development, or teacher mentoring
- Previous experience in bilingual, international, or multicultural school environments
- Japanese language skills are welcome but not required

About the Role:
Cambridge Centre Ltd is seeking an experienced Early Years / Primary Lead Teacher to join our growing team in Tokyo.
We are looking for a confident, child-centred educator with strong experience in Early Years and/or Primary education, preferably within IB, Cambridge, EYFS, UK-based, or other international programmes.
The successful candidate will teach young learners through English while also helping to lead curriculum development, support other teachers, and build high-quality Early Years and Primary programmes linked to international standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Early Years and/or Primary aged children through English
- Act as a Lead Teacher for curriculum planning and classroom practice
- Support, mentor, and guide other teachers
- Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and age-appropriate lessons
- Support children’s language, literacy, numeracy, communication, and wellbeing
- Help develop programmes linked to Cambridge and other international pathways
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to parents and management
- Support events, open days, and promotional activities
