Desired experience and qualifications
● At least 1 year of teaching experience with children
● Solo teaching experience with groups of kids, daycare or kindergarten experience, or international school experience. Must enjoy working with children.
● Bachelor's degree or higher (TESOL degree/teaching certification is preferred).
● Must be positive, friendly, outgoing, open minded, and most importantly, flexible. The right candidate will be professional and passionate about teaching.
● Computer proficiency/ iPad proficiency is a must.
● Must interact professionally with staff and students at all times.
Job Description
Full Time Position
- Full-time position, 5 days a week
- TUESDAY-SATURDAY; Sun/Mon off
- 11:30 am to 9:30 pm on weekdays Tuesday to Friday. Any 8 hours between those two times. Usually 11:30 am to 7:30 pm or 1:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Saturday will be 9:00am to 5:00pm.
- Contract will expire in March 2027, with 1-year contract renewal after that.
- Applicants must be able to interview in Japan at our school in Asaka City three minutes from Asakadai Station (Tobu-Tojo Line) or Kita-Asaka Station (Musashino Line).
- There will be a two-week initial training/orientation period before the contract is signed in Asaka City.
- Transportation costs are reimbursed up to 10% of monthly salary (25,000/26,000 yen a month max)
Teaching duties and responsibilities
1) Teaching Kindergarten and Elementary school age students in a 100% English speaking environment.
2) Lesson planning and student reports throughout the school year.
3) Special events such as summer school, winter school, etc.
4) 3 day 2 night summer camp in August
5) Teaching at a local Kindergarten.
6) Teaching traditional Eikaiwa classes with textbooks to elementary, junior high and high school students.
